Dulle Teve: delicious triple ale

Dulle Teve, available in Esen from De Dolle Brouwers, is a triple beer. It is brewed with a white candy in the kettle and has 10 percent alcohol per volume. It is for sale almost all year round in the brewery.

Legend is born

Dulle Teve is a swear name used in the region for a nasty woman. This was first used by a pub owner who wanted his own beer and was tasting two different possibilities in the Oerbar.
His wife became increasingly impatient and phoned him. At that moment the pub owner remarked: "Do you know what you are? A dulle teve!" The brewer immediately saw possibilities: "Now we have to make a beer, we already have the name," he said.
